Boot Hill Museum is excited to announce the release of an exclusive painting commissioned by Buck Taylor, “Raise a Ruckus”! This beautiful watercolor depicts the rough and rowdy days of the Queen of the Cowtown’s. Imagine witnessing the excitement of the cowboys straight off the trail coming into Dodge City looking for a good time! Front Street is featured in this scene of the cowpokes having a rip roaring good time in the Delectable Burg!
Buck Taylor is an accomplished actor and artist, best known for his role as “Newly” on Gunsmoke. Born the son of a famous Hollywood actor, Dub Taylor, Buck grew up on movie sets watching his father appear with such movie greats as John Wayne, Tex Ritter and Bob Willis and the Texas Playboys. Buck went on to become a Hollywood star in his own right and continues his long successful movie career today. Buck is still a part of the West by dipping into his creative sides with his paintings. Buck likes to capture the memorable moments in the films he’s been in, and in real life, in his paintings. The recognition of his many talents is overdue and well deserved, but to an actor and artist like Buck, it is just another stop in his long journey to the end of the winding dirt road where the real West and the real Buck Taylor began.
250 prints have been made exclusively for Boot Hill Museum. Each print is hand numbered and signed by Buck Taylor. The prints for Boot Hill Museum also feature our gunfighter logo drawn by Buck! Raise a Ruckus is the first in a series of three paintings that will feature Dodge City. Prints can be obtained at Boot Hill Museum. The cost for each print is $250, and all funds will directly benefit Boot Hill Museum’s exhibits and collections.
